The Initiatives for Dialogue and Empowerment through Alternative Legal Services (IDEALS) is a rights-based advocacy and legal service institution organized to assist marginalized, disempowered, and vulnerable groups in the Philippines. Founded in 2005, it aims to bridge the disparity between development work and legal services by empowering communities through rights-based legal and technical assistance. IDEALS believes that protecting human rights is the core foundation in maintaining peace and equality in society. With the relentless transformation of society, IDEALS adheres to its principle that access to justice is a fundamental human right that should be exercised by all. We work with our partners and communities to encourage Filipinos to engage with the government and claim their rights.

Vision: IDEALS envisions a Philippine society with an empowered and resilient citizenry sustained by participatory and accountable governance, equitable enjoyment of resources and opportunities, and accessible justice.

Mission: Catalyzing the empowerment of development organizations by being true to its mission, IDEALS is dedicated to develop and facilitate partners’ initiatives for empowerment and sustainability as well as assisting disadvantaged and marginalized sectors in gaining improved access to justice and equity.
