As an organization, IDEALS, Inc. is not only here to educate the general public of their rights and obligations under the law, but also to be on the forefront of respecting every person’s Human Rights, including the right to information privacy as embodied in Republic Act No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012. In other words, your privacy is very important to us.
Hence, we would like you to understand how we handle the data that we collect and generate from you when you avail any of our services. This Privacy Policy outlines our guiding principles in the collection, use, and protection of your Personal Data. From time to time, we may update our Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the law. When we do so, we will notify you so that you are always aware about how we handle your data.
Our Commitment to You
We treat your data with utmost importance, security, and confidentiality. Our internal policies and Organizational, Physical, and Technical security measures ensure that your data is protected from unauthorized access, processing and disposal, theft, or loss. We continually improve these policies, processes, and security measures to ensure that they are always relevant and up-to-date.
As an added measure of security, access and authority to collect, process, use, and share your Personal Data is also restricted within IDEALS. Aside from authorized personnel, we guarantee that only you and your representatives, subject to the presentation of an ID and a written Special Power of Attorney, shall have access to your Personal Data. We will not give, sell, or share your information to anyone, without your explicit instruction or consent.
Your Role as our Client
By availing our services, you signify that you have read, understood, and consented to the collection, processing, use, and sharing of your Personal Data, particularly your Personal Information, in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Data Privacy Act of the 2012.
Collection of Personal Data
For IDEALS, Inc. to provide our services, we will collect two types of data from you. These are:
- Your Personal Information, which is defined in the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and refers to any information that may identify you, such as your name, gender, date of birth, address, telephone/mobile number, email address, proof of identification, etc.
- Your Non-Personal Information, which is any information that does not identify you individually, and includes statistical and analytical data, and anonymous and aggregate reports.
What are your Data Privacy Rights?
Your specific Data Privacy Rights are as follows:
- You have the right to know information about the Personal Information we collect, process, use, and/or share with other persons and/or our partner organizations. Upon your request, we will give you the relevant information except for when it is proprietary owned by IDEALS, Inc. We reserve the right to refuse unreasonable requests;
- You have the right to refuse to give your consent to the collection, processing, use, or sharing of your Personal Information. However, should you refuse to give consent, we may be forced to not render our services;
- You have the right to suspend, withdraw, or order us to block, remove, or delete your Personal Information in our system if you have information, duly supported by substantial evidence, that your Personal Information is no longer needed for the declared purpose for which said information was collected, and for other reasons stated in the Data Privacy Act of 2012; and
- You have the right to file a claim for damages for any injury you might sustain from the incorrect, incomplete, outdated, wrong, illegally collected, or unauthorized use of your Personal Information.

Who has access to your data?
Access and processing of your data (personal and non-personal) are restricted to authorized personnel who hold such information under strict confidentiality and on a need-to-know basis. All authorized personnel are subject to strict contractual and technical safeguards and are accountable if they fail to meet these obligations.
How long do we keep your data?
We keep your data in our records while you remain as our client, and/or as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or while we need it for business, tax, or legal purposes.
What do we do with your data (personal and non-personal)?
We use your data:
- For statistical analysis and/or discover trends or insights that may be used in our research and published in a research paper which may take a form of, but not limited to, Policy Structuring, Policy Recommendation, Policy Forecasting, or Policy Evaluation paper;
- To aid IDEALS, Inc. in delivering our services to you, in improving our current services, and informing and potentially adding new services; and
- Comply with the law and legal processes, such as court order, existing legal obligation, or to avoid potential injury to public security, safety, or order.
Our data processing is always done consistently with provisions of the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Should there be any other types of processing not covered by the above that we would need to do, we would ask for your explicit consent.
