With the support of the Global Community and Engagement Resilience Fund (GCERF), IDEALS and Connected Women<\/a> capacitated 30 out-of-school youth and 20 women entrepreneurs from MSEs and cooperatives based in Maguindanao del Sur. Through the Elevate AIDA (Artificial Intelligence Data Annotation) program, women partners learned to become remote data annotators with on-the-job training.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Satria Abdul, an out-of-school youth from Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur, joined the Elevate AIDA (Artificial Intelligence Data Annotation) training hoping to learn new skills and explore online work opportunities. After completing the program, she began to notice meaningful changes in herself. Her mindset became more positive, and she learned to be open to new ideas. She started to understand that every challenge also brings an opportunity to learn and grow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through Elevate AIDA, Satria gained more confidence in communicating with others and working online from home. Before the training, she often hesitated to try remote work because she was afraid of making mistakes. Now, she feels determined to keep learning and improving. She has become more disciplined, better at planning her tasks, and more organized in managing her time. These habits have helped her develop the qualities needed to succeed as a remote worker.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before joining the program, Satria used to doubt herself. She was afraid to start working online because she thought she lacked the right skills and knowledge. She worried that she might make mistakes or fall behind on technical tasks. But after going through the training, she learned to face those fears. She now sees mistakes as part of the learning process. Every experience, whether good or bad, teaches her something valuable.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the training, new opportunities started to come. Satria became more interested in online work because she now understood how it works and what skills are needed. She applied for an online job as a survey enumerator at Stars and Sun I.T Consultancy, and she was accepted. After joining the survey for a month, she was informed that there would be a second round of the survey, and she is already being considered again for the same role. They told her that this consideration was because they were impressed with how she handled tasks using Google Workspace tools, which she learned from the training.<\/span><\/p>\n

The training also allowed her to build new connections with fellow trainees and mentors who continue to inspire and support her. Whenever she has questions about remote work, they are always ready to help. This made her more open to exploring new opportunities and motivated her to keep learning so she can build a more stable online career. Even while working from home, she can still earn and contribute to her family\u2019s needs. #<\/span><\/p>\n

SPEAK Mindanao or the \u201cSupport to People\u2019s Empowerment through Amplifying community voices for Kalilintad in Mindanao\u201d was a three-year (2023 to 2025) project supported by the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF).
