Not Forgotten: Reaching isolated communities to provide life-saving response
When Typhoon Vinta hit Balabac, Palawan on December 2017, 13 people died and 17 went missing. Following the aftermath of the typhoon, the Balabac Provincial Health Office declared a diarrhea outbreak.
The Humanitarian Response Consortium initiated the response to address the diarrhea outbreak in the isolated municipality. Through the coordination with the Local Government Units (LGU) and Municipal Health Office, they were able to resolve the issue and prevent further diarrhea cases to arise.
